The ICT for Kids 2069 event, held at St. Joseph Mae Ramat School on August 17, 2069, was meticulously designed by the Science and Technology Learning Area to provide students in Primary 1-6 with hands-on learning experiences in technology.
The primary objective of this activity was to promote and develop critical skills necessary for the digital age, including technology proficiency, computational thinking, and problem-solving. This was achieved through three diverse and engaging learning stations.
Learning Station 1: Bee-Bot Coding
At this station, students were introduced to the fundamentals of programming and logical thinking by controlling Bee-Bot robots. These user-friendly robots are ideal for younger primary students, allowing them to grasp the concepts of command creation and sequential steps in a fun and interactive manner.
Learning Station 2: KidBright
KidBright is an embedded microcontroller board developed for learning coding and creating electronic projects. Students at this station had the opportunity to experience hands-on innovation, learning to connect code with the functions of real devices. This experience extended their computational thinking skills into practical applications.
Learning Station 3: Digital Detective
The Digital Detective station challenged students to develop analytical thinking and problem-solving skills within simulated digital scenarios. Activities in this station encouraged students to enhance their information retrieval, situation assessment, and rational decision-making abilities, which are crucial for becoming responsible and digitally literate citizens.
