The “Run, Hide, Fight” activity presented three key, easy-to-understand, and practical steps that empower students and staff to assess situations and make informed decisions when confronted with danger:
Run: If there is a clear and safe exit, evacuate the dangerous area as quickly as possible and move towards a designated safe point. Swift and calm movement is the most crucial aspect of this step.
Hide: If escape from the area is not possible, find a secure place to hide, barricade entrances, or create obstructions to protect yourself, and remain as quiet as possible to avoid detection by an assailant.
Fight: When directly confronted with danger and unable to run or hide, self-defense is considered a last resort to create an opportunity for survival. Engage in defensive actions to create a window for escape from the dangerous situation.
Throughout the activity, participants learned these principles through interactive lectures and simulated scenarios, ensuring a deep understanding and the ability to apply them in real-life situations.
