On July 15, 2026, Sister Pia-Marie Pacharee Sunthornpian, Director of St. Joseph Mae Ramat School, recognized the importance of preserving Thai traditions and culture. She therefore assigned Ms. Supannee Sunanta and Mr. Thawatchai Promthep to lead student representatives from various grade levels to participate in the Buddhist Lent Candle Casting activity, organized by the Mae Ramat Subdistrict Administrative Organization. This event marks the significant Buddhist Lent festival (Khao Phansa).
The school's participation in this activity served several key objectives, aimed at promoting the intellectual and moral development of the students:
Learning and Preserving Tradition: To encourage students to learn about and actively participate in preserving Thailand's valuable traditions, especially those related to Buddhism.
Instilling Virtues and Ethics: To instill virtues, ethics, and desirable values in students, such as gratitude, unity, and respect for religion.
Fostering Conservation Awareness: To enhance awareness in conserving Buddhism, arts and culture, and local wisdom, enabling students to recognize their value and role in safeguarding the nation's identity.
Experiential Learning: To provide students with opportunities for real-life experiential learning, which leads to deeper and more sustainable understanding.
St. Joseph Mae Ramat School is committed to developing youth to be both good and capable individuals, possessing knowledge coupled with virtues, and ready to be a significant force in preserving and developing society in the future. This participation reflects the school's vision of integrating learning both inside and outside the classroom to create truly quality citizens.
