St. Joseph Mae Ramat School Upholds Buddhist Traditions through Annual Candle Procession

St. Joseph Mae Ramat School recognizes the profound importance of preserving Thai culture and traditions, particularly the sacred customs of Buddhism. Therefore, the school led its teachers and students in participating in the annual Candle Procession Day 2026, held collectively in Mae Ramat District.

This event serves not only as a means to perpetuate good traditions but also as a crucial opportunity to instill morality, ethics, and a positive consciousness in students, enabling them to be an integral part of supporting and maintaining Buddhism, which forms a vital foundation of Thai society.

Engaging in Meaningful Buddhist Practices

During the Candle Procession Day, teachers and students actively engaged in various significant activities:

Participating in the Candle Procession: Students and teachers devoutly joined the candle procession, demonstrating their faith and reverence for Buddhism.
Offering Lenten Candles: The school community collectively offered Lenten candles at Wat Pa Mai Ha and Wat Pa Khane Jue. This traditional practice supports monks in their religious duties during the Buddhist Lent period.
Temple Volunteer Work: Beyond the procession and candle offerings, students also participated in volunteer work within the temple grounds. This showcased their selflessness, willingness to serve, and unity in helping to maintain religious sites.
